Composting machine price: compare the complete proposal

The right comparison includes capacity, configuration, site preparation, and operating costs. Request an itemised quotation for your requirement so you can compare proposals on the same basis.

What determines the equipment price?

A quotation should identify the exact configuration offered. A generic capacity label is not a complete technical specification.

Daily capacity and loading pattern

Share weighed daily waste and peak loads. Confirm whether the rating is daily throughput, batch capacity, or another measure.

Configuration and materials

Confirm contact-part material and grade, exterior finish, controls, loading arrangements, and any optional preparation or handling equipment.

Installation scope

Ask which electrical work, civil preparation, transport, unloading, commissioning, and operator training are included.

Ask for a written cost breakdown

Purchase and installation

  • Equipment price and applicable taxes.
  • Optional equipment and accessories.
  • Freight, unloading, and site access requirements.
  • Civil and electrical preparation responsibilities.
  • Commissioning and initial operator training.

Operation and support

  • Expected electricity consumption for your loading pattern.
  • Operator tasks and time required each day.
  • Consumables and replenishment intervals.
  • Warranty coverage, exclusions, and AMC terms.
  • Output handling, storage, and any curing requirements.

Estimate electricity cost from the proposed machine

Ask for expected daily energy consumption in kWh. Installed motor or heater power in kW is not the same as a measured daily energy figure.

Monthly electricity cost = expected kWh per operating day × your electricity tariff per kWh × operating days per month

Use your own tariff and the supplier's model-specific consumption estimate. Add operator, consumable, maintenance, and output-handling costs separately.

Compare like-for-like proposals

Use one requirement brief

Send each supplier the same measured daily waste, peak loading, waste mix, available space, and operating hours.

Check the output description

Clarify what leaves the machine, how it should be handled, and whether any further curing or testing is required before its intended use.

Read service conditions

Compare installation exclusions, spare-part arrangements, warranty, and AMC scope rather than assuming they are identical.

Record assumptions

Keep the dated quotation, specification sheet, cost assumptions, and operating responsibilities with the purchase approval.

Questions before you enquire

Is there one fixed price for every composting machine?

The proposal depends on capacity, configuration, and site scope. Ask for an itemised written quotation rather than comparing prices without the associated specification.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Provide your site type and city, measured daily and peak wet waste, installation-space details, waste mix, and purchase timeline. These allow the team to discuss a suitable configuration.

Are tax rebates included in the cost comparison?

Only include an incentive after the relevant authority confirms eligibility and approval. Buying a composting machine does not by itself establish entitlement to a tax concession.
